A trip through Europe with lilies!

After the success of last year, this year for the second time in a row a number of renowned and enthusiastic florists showed their creativity and skills during ”Contrary Lily goes Europe!”
At the first day of the Dutch Lily Days, May 21, public, florists and breeders gathered at 14:00 in the glasshouses of Lily Nursery de Plas at Noorden where you can find the lily varieties of The Originals.
A few weeks ago the participating florists had a European country been allocated. The florists brought attributes such as pasta (Italy), muleta (Spain), wooden shoes (Netherlands), Matroesjka (Russia) and processed the several lily varieties of the Originals into a beautiful flower arrangement. Winner of Contrary Lily goes Europe was Jennie Slagter with her Laurel made by the leaves of the lily Nova Zembla and the cornucopia in which she truly translated Greece.
The beautiful creations of Inbloem Vormgeving, On’s Flower Decor, Otto Bloemkunst, Bloemenhuis Pietersen, De Gloriosa, Bloemsierkunst Christa Snoek and Flower Art can be seen until Friday, May 24th from 8:00 to 18:00 on Lily Nursery de Plas, Ir. J. Nysinghweg 1 at Noorden.
Na het succes van vorig jaar gingen dit jaar weer een aantal creatieve en enthousiaste bloemisten aan de gang met hun kijk op ”Lelie Anders”.
Op de eerste dag van de Dutch Lily Days, 21 mei, verzamelden publiek, bloemisten en veredelaars zich om 14.00 uur in de kassen van Kwekerij de Plas te Noorden waar het assortiment van The Originals staat.
Vooraf hadden de bloemisten een Europees land toegewezen gekregen zodat zij zich hierin konden verdiepen. De bloemisten verwerkten de diverse soorten Originals lelies in hun meegebrachte attributen zoals pasta (Italië), muleta (Spanje), klompjes (Nederland), matroesjka (Rusland) tot een prachtig bloemwerk. Winnaar van “Lelie Anders” werd Jennie Slagter met haar Lauwerkrans van de blaadjes van de lelie Nova Zembla en de hoorn des overvloeds waarmee zij Griekenland prachtig vertaalde.
